      <image:caption>Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Ruvimbo moved to Canada at the age of 19 to continue her tertiary education and never left. Ruvimbo is a passionate advocate for women’s rights and in particular menstrual rights. In 2016, Ruvimbo founded The Grace &amp; Nelly Project with the aim of creating opportunities for women and girls in rural communities to help them achieve their dreams. She named the organization after her grandmothers who taught her the importance of giving back to her community, being fierce in the pursuit of your dreams and the freedom of financial independence.</image:caption>

Having experienced firsthand the challenges faced by immigrant women in Canada, Abigail understands and values the mentorship, education and empowerment of young women and girls. With over 10 years of experience as a nurse, Abigail is passionate about leadership and currently works as a Unit Coordinator at The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre in Winnipeg- a personal care home, where her passion for helping others is put to good use.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Doris is a development practitioner and strategic communications specialist, entrepreneur and writer with work experience in Botswana, Dubai and Zimbabwe. She is passionate about women empowerment and has worked with various business membership organizations in Zimbabwe in advocating for rights and recognition, access to business linkages, formalization, social protection, access to markets and decent work spaces as well as financial inclusion for informal female entrepreneurs. Given how corruption disproportionately affects women in Africa, Doris is an Anti-Corruption Compliance trainer, focusing on supporting micro, small and medium enterprises - which are often the supply side of corruption – to build effective business ethics and integrity infrastructure. She is also a Trustee of Agape Girl’s Empowerment Trust in Zimbabwe and Founding Editor of Ethics 360 Magazine.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Grace &amp; Nelly provided a total of 200 primary schools girls (grades 5 to 7) in Mukombami with reusable sanitary pads; towels; and soap. This was accompanied by a presentation on menstrual health and how best to use sanitary pads. To date, the headmistress at the school has indicated very few female students miss school when they are on their periods.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>In keeping with Grace &amp; Nelly’s aim to assist women in Mukombami and all of Zimbabwe to achieve financial independence, Grace &amp; Nelly launched the first workshop to bring women in business together with those wishing to start or improve upon their businesses. The first workshop titled, Women in Business: Entrepreneurship in Zimbabwe was held on November 30, 2018, with the attendance of 151 women from in and around the Mukombami area. The Rural District Councillor for Mukombami was in attendance along with the local Headmen from Mukombami and surrounding villages to provide support to the initiative and the women in attendance.</image:caption>

      <image:title>2019: A Year of Impact - Community Assessment - Situational Analysis Report The Report based on the situational analysis of the 14 rural communities which feed into Mukombami Primary School found: High rates of school absenteeism, with 32.3% of girls interviewed stating they had missed school due to menstrual reasons.  Child abuse, girl children in the community are at risk of being abused both by family members and those in the school environment.  Forced child marriage and early pregnancies, with the average of marriage estimated to be 17. This gave G&amp;N the information it needed to better tackle the issues in the community. G&amp;N is determined to address the above issues one step at a time.</image:title>

      <image:caption>In May 2022, G&amp;N ran a pad sewing workshop that was attended by over 20 women and girls in the community over the course of 5 days. The workshop helped foster an entrepreneurial spirit among the women and G&amp;N will be hiring two of the women to develop the first pads in Mukombami in 2023.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>In the second half of the year, G&amp;N ran a a series of workshops on financial literacy, the basics of starting and running a business and marketing. These workshops have been attended by over 300 women to date. At the end of the year, G&amp;N evaluated over 140 applications to a micro-granting program, which is giving women micro-grants from USD$150 - $500 for a total of $10,000.Thirty-seven women were selected for grants from all the applications and have begun their entrepreneurial journeys!</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Through our partnership with the Rozaria Memorial Trust we invited 15 girls from the Mukombami primary school to participate in the 3rd annual mega Nhanga! RMT is also providing 500 girls educational programming targeted at eliminating child marriage and empowering young girls in rural communities. The program spans 2022 into 2023 and we cannot wait to share all the activities the girls take part in.</image:caption>
